Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryZELMA ANNE HAY (KELUNICK) Sadly, on July 19, 2000 Zelma Hay passed away peacefully in the company of her family. Born December 22, 1933 in Shoal Lake, Man., Zelma moved to Winnipeg at age four where she lived until 1986. In June of that year she became a permanent resident of West Hawk Lake. Starting in 1994 she spent six months a year at her home in Florida. From 1957 to 1995 Zelma was an active partner in all her husbands business ventures. She was CEO of Facs Records Centre in Winnipeg until its sale in 1997 and was co-owner of the Falcon Lake Resort Hotel. She took great pleasure from sports of all kinds, whether participating or watching. She enjoyed bowling, curling and in later years golfing. Her favourite pastime was reading, often reading two books at one time and needlework. Zel was a founding member of the Falcon Lake Toastmasters Club and a current member of the Kenora Toastmasters. She was proud of her accomplishments as a speaker, especially the trophies she received from her participation in humourous speech contests. Zel is survived by her husband, business partner, best friend and loving companion Doug; sons, Derek (Gail) Hay and Jamie (Kim) Hay; grandchildren, Crystal, Brittney, Austin, Megan, Ian and Allison; brothers, Ernie (Joyce) Kelunick and Bob Kelnick; foster sister Judy Blake-Knox; sister-in-law Barb McAllister and Zels loyal shadow Spike. "I wish my family to grieve as little as possible. My life has overflowed with happiness and this is only another adventure." No flowers or donations please. Memorial service will be held on Monday, July 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue, followed by lunch in the Cropo Rose Room. Additionally, an informal gathering will be held on Tuesday, July 25 at 3:00 p.m. at the Falcon Lake Resort Hotel. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
